For different relationships, I utilize different styles of approach when it comes to conflict. In professional relationship, I try to use “collaborating” and at times “accommodating” styles. With team members, it is important to communicate effectively to have a good working environment. Otherwise, a simple conflict can hamper the work as well as the working environment. In my personal life, I mostly use the “avoiding” style as I do not want to hurt another person who is close to me. The way this style is mentioned in the book that avoiding means the person is unconcerned about the other person’s needs and desires is something I do not agree with. For example, about political issues, me and my parents have different stances and I mostly try to avoid political discussions with them as it always ends up in a fight. In order to not disrupt our daily lives with a silly fight, I avoid discussing particular topics with them.
